Year 3 Tent Day

Tent Day Recount written by Olivia
On the 29th of October the Year 3’s had a ‘camp at school’ day.  It was fun having a tent city.  The part I liked best was playing ‘elastics’ with Amber and Lillie.  After we had our shared lunch of pop-corn, scrumptious fluffy meringue, adorable pikelets spread with butter and topped off with 100’s and 1000’s, we had a try at hosting.  The junior classes arrived at Tent City.  After lunch we split up into activity groups.  My team was Number 1.  In my group were Rose, Lillie, Annie, Sam and I.  We had to find a spider, an insect and something that smelt nice.  Mrs Campbell chose me to be the leader of our group.  At 2.00pm we had to take the tents down.  That was one of the best parts of the day for me because we got to hang out.

Ding!  Tent Day was beginning.  We did the roll.  We were going to set up the tents.  Just before morning tea we got ice-blocks.  At playtime me, Stanley, Alex, Henry, Fred and Jack B. played Zombies.  At lunchtime it was great!  We had cake, muffins and bacon and egg pie.  I got to welcome the Year 1 and 2’s.  Our tent was a hit.  We called it Party House.  We had about 20 kids.  It was awesome.  Thank you to all the parents who supplied food and tents.
